This Nairobi Gold supplier has been charged with obtaining Ksh70 million  from several foreigners.

Sikanda Ismael Abdalla Saleh was charged with obtaining Ksh64 million from a South African, Prakash Robert Deepal Baichan by falsely pretending that he was in a position to ship 435 kilograms from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi to Dubai International airport in the United Arabs Emirates.

The accused is alleged to have committed the offence jointly with others who were charged on  December 19  2016 in Nairobi. They will all be charged afresh when the case comes for mention.

Falsely pretending

Saleh was also charged with obtaining Ksh17.3 million shillings from Mustaq Hafeji Dawood by falsely pretending that he was in a position to ship 50 kilograms of gold from JKIA to Kuwait International Airport in the Republic of Kuwait.

He is alleged to have the offence on diverse dates between  October  4 2015 and  October 31 2016 in Nairobi county.

He was also charged with obtaining 4.9 million shillings from one Mohammad Imad Mokdad by pretending that he was in a position to ship 50kg of gold from JKIA Nairobi to Beirut city in the republic of Lebanon.

Diverse dates

He is alleged to have committed this offence on diverse dates between  June 2 1 and 13 2017 in Nairobi county.

The suspect denied the charges at the  Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku’s court.

He was released on a bond of Ksh1million  and one surety or a cash bail of Ksh500,000.

Hearing is on  October 23 2017.
