State prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki said the ODPP is yet to receive a letter on the proposed plea bargain.

The 46-year-old doctor is accused of killing Ratemo at his clinic where he was undergoing treatment.

A postmortem on Ratemo’s body revealed he had been tortured, injected with an unknown substance and strangled before he died.

He suffered several injuries inflicted by a blunt object on his head, face and other parts of the body.

The autopsy report also shows that the lawyer’s genitals were crushed and his neck had injuries, suggesting that he was strangled.

Investigations were  later  launched to establish the substance injected into his body.

The Law Society of Kenya  linked the murder to an investigation he was carrying out and stated he died ast the hands of people he was familiar with.

Jared Ratemo was found dead on Mombasa Road.
