Edinah Kemunto Mabuka’s recent case of child theft at KNH has taken a new twist!

Imagine, she has a similar case dating back to 2015, a trial court heard.

And, when she appeared at the Nairobi chief magistrate’s court to answer to a charge of depriving Job Nyatete Ouko of his baby Prince (a child of two weeks whose identity we cannot reveal in full), she pleaded “guilty.”

A magistrate cautioned her that the offence she faces is serious and the penalty carries a term of 7 years.

A lawyer following the proceedings, James Mwangi Njengo, jumped into the fray Pro bono saying he had followed the proceedings and may want time with Kemunto, and suggested that she may answer to the charges afresh after consultations.

Prosecutor Solomon Nauliaka told the court that Kemunto has a similar matter coming up for hearing on March 2 2018 when the current case has also been set for mention.
