Tessio  De Costagama has been charged with two counts by the Director of Immigration Services.

She is charged with unlawfully engaging in employment after her arrest on March 6 2018 at Medecins du Monde , a French NGO with offices in Lavington, Chalbi Drive Gate 24 along Isaac Gathangu Road.

Criminal court

The suspect is a Spanish national, prosecution said, holding a Spanish passport number XDC876321 and was found working as a Regional Coordinator of the said organisation “without being authorised to do so by a pass or permit , or exempted from the provision by regulations made under Section 53(2) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act.

Valbuena was also charged with being unlawfully present in Kenya without permission of the Immigration Officer, an act which invalidated  your visitor’s pass.

She has pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of Ksh1 million or cash bail of Ksh200,000.

Hearing is on March 28 2018 at a criminal court in Nairobi.
