In a turnaround effect Tessio  De Costagama who had denied two counts by the Director of Immigration Services pleads guilty and is ordered to pay a fine of Ksh200K.

Medecins du Monde France regional boss Beatriz Tessio, unlawfully present in Kenya, court told

She had charged with unlawfully engaging in employment after her arrest on March 6 2018 at Medecins du Monde , a French NGO, with offices in Lavington, Chalbi Drive Gate 24 along Isaac Gathangu Road.

Regularise her stay

The convict is a Spanish national,  holding a Spanish passport number XDC876321 and was found working as a Regional Coordinator of the said organisation “without being authorised to do so by a pass or permit , or exempted from the provision by regulations made under Section 53(2) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act.”

She has since been directed to “regularise” her stay

Valbuena was also charged with being unlawfully present in Kenya without permission of the Immigration Officer, an act which invalidated  your visitor’s pass.

She had pleaded “not guilty” and was released on a bond of Ksh1 million or cash bail of Ksh200,000.

She had been adamant that she had paid for “processing…”
