A warrant of arrest has been issued against Harambee Sacco head of Finance Jacob Wanjala Barasa after he jumped bail and failed to attend a hearing of a criminal case he faces at the Milimani law courts.

Wanjala is charged with stealing Ksh13,645,220, from his employer.

The offence was committed between December 1 2017 and February 7 2018, according to court records.

The case is to be married with that of Christopher Seje Bolo, on May 14 2018.

Bolo, is alleged to have stolen the cash while employed as the Sacco’s credit control manager.

The charges state that on dates between December 1 2017 and February 7 2018 at Harambee Savings and Credit Co-operative Society office, in Nairobi, being servants of the said Sacco, jointly stole the mentioned amount of cash which came into “your possession by virtue of your employment.”

Harambee Saccco CEO Renson Mwaliko Mwandoe is among the prosecution witnesses listed in the case.

Others are Francis Kitonyi, Peter Otieno Oredo and Chief Inspector John Jaldesa.

The suspects are out on Ksh 1 million bond each.

Police are expected to execute the warrant of arrest against Wanjala by May 30 2018 when the case is again mentioned in court.
